abstract The present invention concerns the field of methane, biogas and/or syngas production using biomass feedstock. More in particular, the invention concerns a new feedstock material for methane, biogas and/or syngas production. It is an objective of the present invention to provide a process of energy recovery from biomass wherein overall efficiency is improved. The present inventors have found that this objective can be met by using plant material derived from the genus Pennisetum, especially from Pennisetum hybridum, as the feedstock in biogas or methane production or in gasification.
