The porous film of the present invention has an absorbing height of an electrolysis solution of 10 to 60 mm in at least one direction of the film's machine direction or transverse direction, wherein the absorbing height being measured after 30 minutes from the start of the absorption of the electrolysis solution, and a tensile strength at break in the machine direction of not less than 65 MPa. The porous film of the present invention provides a porous film that has excellent absorption properties for an electrolysis solution and, when used as a separator, exhibits excellent battery properties and workability. |
