abstract | The present invention relates to a catalytic process for the preparation of aliphatic straight-chain and β-alkyl-branched carboxylic acids having 5 to 13 carbon atoms by catalytic oxidation of the corresponding aldehydes with oxygen or oxygen-containing gas mixtures in the liquid phase.
