abstract | The invention relates to a method for producing a macromonomer, wherein a starting compound H2C = CR1 - C6H4-s(R4)s - R3 - OH or H2C = CR2 - CO - NH - R3 - OH, wherein R1 and R2 each = H or linear or branched alkyl radicals having 1 to 4 C atoms, R3 = linear or branched alkylene, aralkylene radical having 1 to 20 C atoms that can comprise one or more hydroxy groups, and R4 = independent linear or branched alkyl, aralkyl, alkoxy, or aralkoxy radicals having 1 to 20 C atoms and s = 0 - 4, is converted after partial deprotonizing with at least one hydroxyfunctional oxirane compound in the presence of an inhibitor of radical polymerization while opening the oxirane ring, wherein the molar ratio of the substance amounts used n(starting compound): n(oxirane compound) is between 1:100 and 1:1. The invention further relates to macromonomers obtainable according to the method, to polymers obtainable therefrom, and to the use thereof as additives in coating agents, plastics, and cosmetics. |
