titleOfInvention Piercing system
abstract The invention relates to a piercing system having a carrier band (2) carrying piercing elements (10) and test elements (11) disposed between the piercing elements (10) for checking a bodily fluid sample obtained by a prick, a piercing drive (9) for causing a pricking motion of piercing elements (10), a carrier band holder (5) coupled to the piercing drive (9) and holding a segment of the carrier band (2) and moving together with said segment (2a) and a piercing element (10) carried by the segment (2a) in the pricking direction for a prick, a wind-up roll (4) for displacing the carrier band (2) by winding up in a band transport direction, a measuring device (6) for measuring an analyte concentration of a bodily fluid sample received by a test element. According to the invention, a segment (2b) of the carrier band (2) having an unused test element (11) is guided past a carrier band segment (2a) disposed in the carrier band holder (5) or behind the carrier band holder (5) in the band transport direction, and said two carrier band segments (2a, 2b) are pressed against each other for transferring a sample from a piercing element (10) to a test element (11). The invention further relates to a corresponding method for transferring a bodily fluid sample from a piercing element (10) to a test element (11).
