titleOfInvention | Method for manufacturing aromatic compounds |
abstract | The present invention describes a process for the preparation of aromatic compounds of the formula (I) Ar 1 -Ar 2 (I), wherein the radicals Ar 1 and Ar 2 each independently represent an optionally substituted aromatic ring system comprising the reaction of an aromatic boron compound of the formula (II) wherein Ar 1 has the abovementioned meaning and the radicals Z 1 and Z 2 are independently hydroxy, dialkylamino, C 1 -C 15 alkyloxy or C 6 -C 15 aryloxy, where the two radicals Z 1 and Z 2 can also form a ring system , with an aromatic starting material of the formula (III) Ar 2 -X (III), wherein Ar 2 has the meaning given above and X represents a halogen or a pseudohalogen, using a solvent in the presence of a base, wherein a low-water polar solvent and a basic borate, preferably an alkali metal borate are used as the base for the reaction. |
