abstract Protection systems and methods for heat-generating electronic devices are provided that include thermal management fluids that are fire extinguishing agents or can extinguish flames. The provided systems and methods include a recirculating thermal management fluid. The fluid circulates through a conduit that includes at least one valve. The valve can be opened in response to a stimulus, such as a flame or fire, diverting the fluid onto the heat-generating electronic device or onto a flame.
