abstract |
PROBLEM n There is provided an industrially advantageous means to obtain a high purity terminal olefin compound (for example, 7-octenal). n SOLUTION n The method for producing a high purity terminal olefin compound of the present invention comprises a step where a mixture containing a terminal olefin compound represented by the following chemical formula 1:n nand a corresponding internal olefin compound as an impurity is brought into contact with a brominating agent in the presence of water or an alcohol, to convert the aforementioned internal olefin compound to a compound having a higher boiling point; and a step where the aforementioned terminal olefin compound is purified by distillation from the mixture obtained in the aforementioned step. |
