abstract | The present invention relates to a method for the semiquantitative determination of cariogenic bacteria in a salivary and / or plaque sample, in which the microorganisms contained in a plaque or saliva sample are brought into contact with a C source, which ferments from the cariogenic bacteria to acid becomes. The microorganisms are then incubated under conditions that allow selective acidification by the cariogenic bacteria. The invention further provides kits for carrying out such methods. |
