titleOfInvention Monoclonal antibodies against vaginolysin
abstract The present invention describes new monoclonal antibodies specific to vaginolysin from Gardnerella vaginalis that neutralize the cytolytic activity of vaginolysin. These antibodies might be useful for diagnostics of Gardnerella vaginalis infection. The present invention describes two new hybridoma cell lines 9B4 and 23A2 that produce neutralizing antibodies against vaginolysin. Monoclonal antibody produced by hybridoma 9B4 has a more potent neutralizing activity than that of hybridoma 23A2. The genetic material from hybridomas 9B4 and 23A2 can be used for developing biopharmaceutical recombinant antibodies with a potential therapeutic use. ˙
