This invention relates to a foam control composition comprising. (A) a silicone antifoam comprising (i) an organopolysiloxane having at least one silicon-bonded substituent of the formula X-Ar, wherein X represents a divalent aliphatic group bonded to silicon through a carbon atom and Ar represents an aromatic group, (ii) an organosilicon resin having the formula R 1 n a SiO (4 a)/2 where R 1 represents a hydrocarbon, a hydrocarbonoxy or a hydroxyl group and a has an average value of 0 5 to 2 4, and (iii) a hydrophobic filler; and (B) an organopolysiloxane resin having at least one polyoxyalkylene group in which the organopolysiloxane resin comprises tetrafunctional siloxane units having the formula SiO 4/2 and monofunctional siloxane units having the formula R 2 n 3 SiO 1/2 , wherein the total number of tetrafunctional siloxane units in the resin is at least 50% based on the total number of siloxane units, and R 2 represents a hydrocarbon group The foam control composition may be added to a potentially foaming liquid, particularly a detergent, such as an HDL detergent |
