titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of colistin medicated feeds and feeds obtainable by said process |
abstract | The invention relates to a process for the preparation of feeds for animal feeding medicated with the antibiotic colistin and to the feeds thus obtained. Said process is based on spraying on a finished granular or pelletized feed a solution of an adherent agent, for example sodium lignosulfonate, and a colistin solution, preferably in the form of sulfate. In the feeds thus obtained, the colistin has not been subjected to the energetic conditions of temperature and humidity typical of the granulation or peptization of feeds, for which reason, degradations are avoided and stability improves. Furthermore, the process allows obtaining a homogenous distribution of the colistin in the finished feed, offering guarantees that the dosing of the colistin to the animals will be correct. This enables medicating at will feeds that are already finished just before their loading in the transport vehicle, which decreases the risk of cross contamination. |
