titleOfInvention Method for counting elementary particles emitted by a fluid in a pipe
abstract The invention relates to a method for counting elementary particles emitted by a fluid which is implemented by a counting device comprising a fluid transfer duct and, outside the duct, means (6a) for detecting particles. which are attenuated by a wall of the conduit and / or by this fluid.n n n This device comprises at least one counting section (4a) of oblong cross-section which connects two adjacent portions of the duct having a larger passage section and which has a ratio [internal height (h) / internal width (I)] less than or equal to 20%, where the internal height and the width respectively represent the smallest and largest of the transverse dimensions of the section measured in two substantially perpendicular directions, these detection means extending transversely to this section opposite any its internal width and on both sides of it.n n n This method is such that one chooses for the wall of said counting section a material which is substantially transparent to the wavelength of the particles emitted by said fluid.
