abstract It comprises the use of a combination of an effective amount of lanthanum and zinc cations for avoiding the sting of poisonous organisms that contain cnidocysts, such as cnidarians and myxozoans. It also comprises the use of a topical composition comprising said combination, together with appropriate topical pharmaceutically or cosmetically acceptable excipients and/or carriers, for avoiding the sting of poisonous organisms that contain cnidocysts. Finally, a method is provided for avoiding the sting of cnidarians and myxozoans comprising the topical administration of said composition.
