abstract | The invention teaches an antihypertensive pharmaceutical composition based on plant extracts containing, among the active ingredients thereof, a plant extract of Hymenocardia acida , preferably an aqueous-alcoholic extract of Hymenocardia acida leaves. Advantageously, the composition may also contain selenium. The composition is preferably formulated in the form of microspheres prepared by means of an extrusion-spheronization process, and then grouped together in gel capsules. The composition is directed more particularly towards cases of mild and moderate hypertension and of prehypertension. |
