abstract The present invention relates to a process for the isolation of methylglycinnitrile-N, N-diacetonitrile (MGDN) from an aqueous mixture containing MGDN, comprising cooling the aqueous mixture in one or more steps, wherein in one of these steps the mixture having a cooling rate of at least 20K / h is cooled from a temperature above the solidification point of MGDN to a temperature below the solidification point of MGDN and the process is continuously applied.
