abstract |
The present invention relates to the use of a nitrogen-containing dispersant as an antioxidant additive in a fuel composition comprising biofuel. The nitrogen-containing dispersant is preferably selected from: n(i) the reaction product of a hydrocarbyl-substituted carboxylic acid or derivative thereof with an amine which product includes a hydrocarbyl substituent of at least 8 carbon atoms; n(ii) a long chain aliphatic amine comprising a hydrocarbyl group of at least 8 carbon atoms; and n(iii) the Mannich reaction product of a phenol, an amine and an aldehyde. |
