The invention relates to a single-layer or multi-layered tubular food casing, in particular for foodstuffs which are brewed, cooked or otherwise heated in the casing, preferably for cooked or boiled sausages, ham, pickles or processed cheese, the invention relating only to such casings, comprising an inner layer comprised of, or predominantly comprising, a thermoplastic polymer having a substantially smooth, non-absorbent, non-porous and non-woven or web-like surface. |
