titleOfInvention Use of precursors of enkephalins and/or their fragments in medical diagnostics
abstract In vitro methods for the determination of proenkephalin fragments in blood, plasma or CSF for diagnostic purposes, wherein proenkephalin fragments consisting of or comprising (i) the amino acids of ENK-fp consisting of amino acids 119 to 159 of the complete amino acid sequence of proenkephalin according to SEQ ID NO:1 and, optionally, (ii) additional amino acids of the proenkephalin sequence SEQ ID NO:1 downstream of said fragment are determined by an immunodiagnostic method using at least one antibody specifically binding to said proenkephalin fragment ENK-fp.
