abstract | Ziegler-Natta polymerization catalyst composition for the (co)polymerization of ethylene, said catalyst composition comprising n1) a solid procatalyst formed by contacting at least: na) a Mg-alcoholate compound of the formula (I): nMg(OR 1 ) 2-n (R 1 ) n , wherein each R 1 independently represents a C 1 -C 20 hydrocarbyl group and 0 ≤ n < 2 and may or may not be an integer; nb) an aluminium compound of the formula (II) nAl(R 2 ) m X 3-m , wherein each R 2 independently represents an alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms; each X is independently a halogen; 0 ≤ m < 3 and m and may or may not be an integer nc) a vanadium compound and a titanium compound in portions such as to provide a molar ratio of V:Ti from 20:80 to 80:20 nin order to yield the solid procatalyst and n2) a halogenated aluminium alkyl cocatalyst of the formula (III) (C 1 -C 4 -alkyl) p -Al-X 3-p , wherein X is chlorine, bromine, iodine or fluorine and p is 1 or 2, nwhereby the composition shows increased comonomer sensitivity and its use for the production of an ethylene. |
