abstract The invention relates to a light-emitting semiconductor component having a semiconductor body (1) which has a semiconductor layer sequence which emits electromagnetic radiation of a first wavelength range during operation of the semiconductor component. At least part of the surface of the semiconductor body (1) is surrounded by a radiation-permeable enclosure. The semiconductor component furthermore has a luminescence conversion element with at least one phosphor. The luminescence conversion element is designed as a luminescence conversion layer (4), which is arranged above the radiation-permeable sheath (15). The luminescence conversion element converts a radiation originating from the first wavelength range into radiation of a second wavelength range different from the first such that the semiconductor component emits mixed-colored light comprising radiation of the first wavelength range and radiation of the second wavelength range
