titleOfInvention Method and device for recognition of stenoses in extra-corporal blood treatment
abstract Stenoses in the circulation of a blood access (fistula, graft) or in an extracorporeal blood circulation are detected by monitoring the amplitude of pressure pulses generated by the heart or the peristaltic blood pump of the extracorporeal circuit. Furthermore, the partial abolition of the occlusion of the peristaltic blood pump can be detected. The measurement of the pressure pulses takes place either with the aid of the sensors installed in the blood treatment device or according to the invention; with a directly applied to the hose sensor, in each case an evaluation with high time resolution must be used.
