abstract The invention relates to a method for structuring a layer of silicone. For this purpose, a layer of crosslinked silicone is first provided and then at least partially exposed to ultraviolet light of a wavelength of 10 nm to 400 nm. The selective dissolution of the exposed areas is carried out by means of a developer containing a mixture of an aliphatic alcohol and a lye in the ratio of 2: 1 to 1: 2.n n n With this method, nano- or micro-scale structures in established and widely used silicones can be inexpensively and quickly produced, in particular in thin layers, self-supporting membranes and thick sheets of silicone subsequently after the crosslinking process. Silicone structures produced in this way are suitable for microcontact printing or for microfluidic applications.
