titleOfInvention Irradiation-cooling combination for use in photodynamic therapy
abstract The invention relates to an irradiation-cooling combination for use in photodynamic therapy with an irradiation element (120), a cooling element (130) permeable to the emitted radiation in a radiation passage direction, this being for attachment between the irradiation element (120) and a treatment surface (160) of a patient is formed. The cooling element (130) has a coolable optical passage area as an abutment against the treatment surface (160).n n n Further components of the invention are a first fixing device (150) for defined positioning of the irradiation-cooling combination with respect to the treatment surface (160), a second fixing device (140) for attaching the irradiation element (120) to the cooling element (130), a control unit (110 ) and a power supply (100).n n n The invention provides effective pain management in the context of photodynamic therapy in conjunction with a mobile treatment system as well as larger treatment areas with a homogenized radiation field.
