titleOfInvention Use of partly hydrolyzed fish gelatin for the preparation of topically administered pharmaceutical compositions
abstract The object of the present invention is the use of partly hydrolyzed fish gelatin in pharmaceutical comĀ¬ positions for topical use, for the purpose of exerting a trophic effect on the treated tissues. Such gelatin has proved to be effective both alone, in pathological conditions having a mostly degenerative characteristic (dry mouth, dry eye, skin ulcers, etc.) and in association with medicaments (antibiotics, chemotherapeutics, etc.) in affections which require an additional specific treatment. An additional advantage of the above gelatin lies in its rheological properties. The present invention also provides the possibility of avoiding the use of preservatives by dissolving the active ingredients at the time of use.
