abstract | The present invention provides methods for the early prediction of aging-related dermatologic conditions of including skin changes associated with intrinsic aging or skin damages caused by extrinsic aging such as photoaging. The present invention also provides kits for the early determination of the propensity to develop such disorder and conditions. The method consists of detecting the presence of one or more alleles of an IL-I haplotype or pattern, specifically the IL-IRN (+2018) and the EL-IB (-511) loci. The presence of allele 2 at the IL-IRN (+2018) and the EL-IB (-511) loci indicates decreased risk for a early onset of aging related dermatologic conditions. |
