abstract In order to obtain a floor covering (10) for vehicles for passenger transport, in particular for airplanes, which on the one hand is flame-retardant and on the other hand has a high resistance to abrasion, the floor covering (10) has a covering layer (13) which consists of a substance mixture consisting of: 20% to 80% by weight of ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, 2% to 70% by weight of flame retardant having a BET specific surface area of between 0.2m 2 / g and 50 m 2 / g, and 4 wt.% to 20 wt.% of fillers.
