abstract | The invention relates to a process for the preparation of meta-Toluylendüsocyanat by reacting meta-toluenediamine with phosgene in the gas phase, in which the meta-toluenediamine and the phosgene are separated from each vaporized in at least one evaporator and then fed in gaseous form to a reactor, characterized marked that a) the meta-toluenediamine fed to the evaporator less than 0.5 wt .-% toluenediamine residue, based on the weight of meta-toluenediamine, and in total less than 0.2 wt .-%, based on the weight of meta-toluenediamine, ammonia and cycloaliphatic amines, and b) the meta-toluenediamine fed to the evaporator contains less than 20 ppm of heavy metals, based on the weight of meta-toluenediamine, and c) the ratio between the amount of liquid V [kg] present in the evaporator and the gas flow M [kg / h] leaving the evaporator is less than 2 h. d) the meta-toluenediamine fed to the evaporator is partially evaporated, wherein a proportion of the meta-toluenediamine of at least 0.1 wt .-%, based on the weight of meta-toluenediamine, is not evaporated, and e) the unvaporized portion of the meta-toluenediamine is not supplied to the reactor. |
