Polyamide layer silicate compounds |
abstract |
The invention relates to polyamide layered silicate compositions containing an untreated clay mineral and a water-soluble polyamide, wherein the concentration of the clay mineral is greater than 30 wt .-%. The invention further relates to nanocomposites containing clay minerals homogeneously distributed in a water-insoluble thermoplastic matrix. These nanocomposites are made by mixing the polyamide layered silicate composition and a water-insoluble thermoplastic in the melt. |
