The present application discloses a method for the preparation of nanoparticles from an aqueous solution of lanthanide salts using citric acid and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). The use of both complexing agents simultaneously allows for the preparation of monodisperse nanoparticles with very small size of less than 50 nm. |
