abstract The invention relates to an article which is formed of or provided with at least one surface which contains silver ions. The article can be in the form of a protective wallet or folder or a sign, notice board or the like, and at least an external surface of the same is provided of a material including said silver ions. This ensures that the said surfaces are resistant to harmful bacteria and also greatly reduces the need for cleaning of the same, thus saving cleaning expenditure and personnel in environments such as schools, hospitals and the like where the articles are used.
