abstract | The invention relates to a method for producing perylene pigments of general formula (Ia) or (Ib), or mixtures thereof, by reacting perylene tetracarboxylic acids or their functional derivatives with aromatic diamines. In said formulae, R1 and R2 independently of one another are identical or different and represent phenylene, naphthylene or pyridylene, where R1 and R2 can be mono- or polysubstituted by C1 -C22 alkyl, C3-C22 alkenyl, C1-C22 alkoxy, hydroxy and/or halogen, X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, X8 independently of one another are identical or different and can represent hydrogen or halogen. According to the invention, the reaction takes place in the presence of a secondary or tertiary amine in an aqueous reaction medium. |
