A catheter (100) for conducting a fluid into or out of a blood vessel, the catheter including a body (102) having a proximal end, a closed distal end and a mid-longitudinal axis; and a balloon (104) attached to the body, the balloon having a proximal portion (124) and a distal portion (126). The body has a first lumen in communication with the balloon and a second lumen (114) adapted to convey a fluid to or from the blood vessel through a side opening (116) in the body, the side opening being located adjacent the proximal portion of the balloon. |
