titleOfInvention Medical devices for localized drug delivery
abstract The invention relates to an implantable medical device comprising an elongate member configured in a plurality of circular turns forming a helix. The helix defines an internal cavity, with adjacent turns of the helix defining an opening which connects the internal cavity with the outside of the helix. A polymeric structure is disposed within the internal cavity and the polymeric structure has a plurality of artificial receptor site mimics for binding an active agent, the receptor site mimics defined in the polymeric structure by a molecular imprint of the first active agent.
