Also disclosed are a method of modulating TLR gene expression or protein activity in a melanocyte or melanoma cell by contacting the cell with a TLR modulating agent and a method of inhibiting melanoma cell migration (e.g., spreading) by contacting the cell with a TLR inhibitor.
