The present invention provides a process for production of an emulsion coating material, the emulsion coating material and a film made from the emulsion coating material, and the present invention is a process for production of an emulsion coating material containing photocatalyst composite particles and a resin component, comprising preparing photocatalyst composite particles in which calcium phosphate is re-precipitated and adhered to the surface of titanium oxide by adjusting the pH of an acidic dispersion/solution having a pH of 4 or lower, in which titanium oxide is dispersed and phosphate ions and calcium ions are dissolved, to a pH of 5.0 to 11, and incorporating the resulting photocatalyst composite particles in a coating material as a photocatalyst component; the emulsion coating material; and films thereof, as a result, an emulsion coating material can be provided which, together with enhancing productivity of photocatalyst composite particles, improves the organic substance photodecomposition function and weather resistance of a coating material or film containing the photocatalyst composite particles. |
