titleOfInvention Diagnosis of and vaccination against Aspergillus fumigatus
abstract The present invention is based on the finding that a protein, presently termed Crf2 is an antigen that is specific for an invasive Aspergillus infection in animals, at least in humans and in birds, which elicits an immune response specifically directed against Aspergillus fumigatus . n In accordance with the specificity of Crf2 for an invasive Aspergillus infection, Crf2 and antibody elicited by Crf2 in an infected animal can be used in a process for diagnosing an invasive Aspergillus infection without detecting a Candida infection.
