abstract The present invention relates to a biodegradable horticultural material of agronomic interest, intended for the manufacture of a plant culture support, essentially composed of algae. The invention also relates to a support for plant culture composed of such a material and a method of manufacturing such a packaging device. For this purpose, a material intended for the production of a biodegradable and nutritious plant culture support, according to the invention, is characterized in that it is composed of algae, in particular of the genus Ulva, and of a plant filler imparting mechanical strength properties to the material selected from lignocellulosic fibers or a mixture consisting essentially of lignocellulosic fibers.
