titleOfInvention | Two-component composition for filling an implant abutment |
abstract | The invention concerns a two-component composition (5), preferably a two-component silicone composition (5), for substantially, in particular completely filling an opening (3) in an implant abutment (1), preferably a central axial opening (3) in an implant abutment (1), most preferably a screw hole in an implant abutment (1). This composition (5) may be used in the prophylaxis and/or treatment of bacterial infiltrations in the implant abutment (1). Furthermore, the invention concerns a method of filling an implant abutment (1) with a composition (5) containing a two-component silicone, in which the composition (5) is allowed to cure in situ. According to a preferred embodiment, the curing is based on an addition reaction. In another preferred embodiment, the composition (5) exhibits a volume reduction of less than 1 % upon curing. |
