Disclosed is a release liner having a multilayer structure of at least three layers including two surface layers and an intermediate layer, in which one of the two surface layers contains a high-density polyethylene, the other contains a low-density polyethylene, and the intermediate layer contains a low-density polyethylene alone as its resin component. Also disclosed is a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet including the release liner and at least one pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, in which a release force X (N/mm) between the release liner and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer and a rigidity Y of the release liner [(Young's modulus of the release liner) x (thickness) 3 ] (N·mm) satisfy the following conditions: 0<X¤0.285 and 0<Y<18X 4 +0.1. The release liner and pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet excel in releasability and do not suffer from liner pop-off even when, for example, stored in a curved state. The release liner excels also in recyclability. |
