The invention relates to a method for the enzymatic production of C 6 -C 18 fatty alcohol and/or C 8 -C 18 fatty acid, by carbon chain elongation, comprising the steps of: ni) providing organic C 2 -C 6 compounds; nii) subjecting the organic C 2 -C 6 compounds to enzymatic carbon chain elongation in the presence of an electron donor; and niii) separating the formed C 6 -C 18 fatty alcohol and/or C 8 -C 18 fatty acid. |
