titleOfInvention | Immunostimulatory composition comprising lipoprotein in microalgae extract |
abstract | Potent immunostimulatory lipoproteins have been identified within the following microalgae and extracts thereof: Spirulina species, Chlorella species, Haematococcus pluvialis and Aphanizomenon flos-aquae. This lipoprotein component can be extracted from the microalgae or microalgae spent material using various procedures. The resulting preparations exhibit extremely potent immunostimulatory activity. These preparations are potentially useful as a botanical or pharmaceutical preparation to improve immune function. Methods are also disclosed for the chemical and bioactivity based standardization of immunostimulatory microalgae extracts and the raw material. |
