abstract An optical imaging apparatus includes a reflective objective lens incorporating a first reflection mirror, a second reflection mirror and illumination means disposed at the rear of the second reflection mirror in a manner such that the central ray of the light cone emitted from the illumination means is coaxial with the central ray of the light beam that enters the reflective objective lens following reflection of the emitted light by a tissue surface under examination. The optical imaging apparatus may be incorporated into a microscope or colposcope.
