abstract The invention relates to a method for preparing purified hydroquinone and forming same. The invention is intended to be used to obtain a purified hydroquinone from raw compounds essentially containing hydroquinone associated with very small quantities of impurities including resorcinol and pyrogallol. The invention is also intended to be used to obtain hydroquinone in an easy-to-handle form. The inventive method, which begins with a raw hydroquinone containing the above-mentioned impurities, is characterised in that it includes a distillation purification step in which the resorcinol and pyrogallol can be eliminated, directly followed by a step in which the purified hydroquinone is formed.
