titleOfInvention | A method for impregnation of porous objects |
abstract | The invention relates to a method for impregnation of porous objects comprising the following steps i)-v): i) applying an injection layer of a material comprising acrylic, epoxy or polyurethane onto the surface of at least part of the porous object and allowing at least part of said material to enter into the pores of said object utilising subatmospheric or superatmos- pheric pressure; ii) allowing the porous object to return to an atmosphere of normal pressure; iii) optionally at least partly allowing the injection layer to harden; iv) applying a topcoat of acrylic, epoxy or polyurethane onto the area of the porous object impregnated with the injection layer: v) allowing the topcoat to harden; wherein the injection layer applied in step i) and/or the topcoat applied in step iv) comprises pulverised glass having a particle size of 0 run to 100 μm. The invention also relates to porous objects obtained according to this method. The impregnated objects exhibits great strengths and resistance against wear of mechanical, chemical, thermal and/or biological nature. |
