abstract The invention provides a method for interfering in activation of an immune cell, comprising providing a substance which specifically interacts in the binding of leukocyte-associated immunoglobulin-like receptor (LAIR) and collagen. The invention in one aspect provides a method for down regulation of activation of an immune cell. In another aspect the invention provides a method for up regulation of activation of an immune cell. The invention further provides pharmaceutical compositions and uses thereof.
