abstract |
The present invention relates to stabilized amorphous candesartan cilexetil compositions for oral administration which have enhanced dissolution and reduced degradation characteristics, and to an efficient and economical process for the preparation of these compositions. Another aspect of the invention relates to stabilized amorphous candesartan cilexetil compositions, obtainable by said process, as pharmaceutical formulations prepared while employing said stabilized amorphous candesartan cilexetil compositions. The stabilized amorphous candesartan cilexetil compositions according to the present invention have greatly improved chemical stability. Preferred drug formulations according to the present invention are tablets, capsules, pellets, and granules prepared with usual, pharmaceutically acceptable excipients in ways known per se. Particularly preferred according to the invention are tablets which rapidly release the active ingredient that are prepared by direct compression of the stabilized amorphous candesartan cilexetil compositions obtained according to the present invention. |
