| abstract |
This laser comprises an active zone comprising at least one active quantum well (AQW) which emits laser radiation during the introduction of carriers into the active zone and at least one collection quantum well (CQW 1 , CQW 2 ), of each side of the active well, to collect and confine some of the introduced carriers. Carrier distribution means in the collection wells are provided to create a space charge field for modifying, during radiation emission and by an electro-optical effect, the gain spectrum of this active well. Application to optical telecommunications. |
