The use of the 4-hydroxychalkone derivatives of the formula (I) is described. in which A can represent a single or double bond, R 1 , R 2 and R 3 , independently of one another, in each case H, OH or (preferably C 1 -C 4 -) alkoxy, with the proviso that at least one of the radicals R 1 to R 3 denotes OH, and R 4 H, OH or (preferably C 1 -C 4 ) alkoxy, and or (ii) their salts and (iii) their mixtures to mask or reduce the unpleasant taste impression of an unpleasant tasting substance, as well as corresponding methods and preparations. |
