abstract | The present invention provides a method of manufacturing a printing cylinder, which comprises the application of cold-gas dynamic spraying to provide a printing surface on a substrate cylinder. More specifically, the method of the present invention involves cold-gas dynamic spraying of metal particles or metal alloy particles of a predetermined compositions onto a steel, aluminium or polymeric composite substrate cylinder in order to provide a printing layer having suitable surface characteristics capable of being engraved by conventional means such as electronic or laser, high hardness and excellent wear characteristics. |
